Key Responsibilities
Support Execution of HSSE Policies
Support the creation of distinct and actionable behavioral change strategies that are appropriate for EEA employees, contractors and third parties, with a view to reducing HSSE incidents and other issues that may affect public and employee health, safety, security and the environment within which EEA operates.
Remain alert to emerging issues and global trends that might benefit or otherwise impact individual, and teams work to ensure a safe working environment for all team members and third parties connected with our business.
Reporting and Incident Follow Up
Gather high-quality data from all departments to create robust health and safety metrics for reporting.
When incidents occur, participate in timely incident investigations and response plans to reduce the likelihood of future occurrences.
Create platforms for employees to report safety incidents confidentially and without fear of reprisal.
Support Emergency and Crisis Response and Communication
Implement and maintain emergency response plans, identify possible emergency scenarios and conduct drill exercises.
Respond immediately to HSSE incidents / accidents ensuring risk mitigation strategies are implemented in a timely manner.
Collect and analyze security related information from local and regional resources.
Go to the field to investigate HSSE incidents and other public safety concerns within the location/area.
Craft detailed summaries of events as required for ENGIE HSSE compliance
Perform any other tasks assigned to support HSSE goals in the business.
Preferred skills
Construction safety experience is an added advantage
Ability to communicate fluently in English and working knowledge of any of the major local languages is desirable
Must be a team player who also works well independently
Required qualifications
High school certificate or equivalent.
Bachelor’s degree in health and safety or any related field.

Experience:

As Security Supervisor, you typically serve as the face of the hotel. Provide customers with a first and last impression as both the greeter of new guests and well-wisher to departing guests. You are security wing of the entire hotel; its staff and guests.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To provide exceptional leadership to all security officers
- Ensure all security measures are followed and implemented
- Ensure that staff register is signed by all staff when they report to work and be-fore they knock off
- Ensure that all hotels vehicles are inspected on a daily basis
- Surveillance: watch for unusual, illegal or dangerous activities occurring on the premises.
Patrol hallways, parking area, lobbies, bars and restaurants. You are expected to evict loiters or trespassers from time to time - Escort Guests: in a situation where a guest is drank or combative, you are ex-pected to escort the guest back to their room and help protect them from dan-ger
- Respond to calls: Fellow employees sometimes need assistance in dealing with a belligerent guest and call security for help. Guests might report a disturbance originating in another room or a suspicious character loitering in the stairwell. Security guards may be dispatched by telephone or radio to assist or investigate.
Maintain Order: Hotel security guards are responsible for enforcing rules. For example, he might have to prevent children from swimming in the pool alone if the hotel requires adult supervision of minors. If the hotel has a bar, he might have to screen guests to ensure they are of age. The security guard might be the person tasked with informing guests they are parked in a restricted area. In an emergency situation, hotel security guards might direct evacuation, or if a false alarm has sounded, they might need to help calm guests. - Complete Reports: security officers are required to keep a log or prepare a re-port of all activities during their shift. These logs record unusual occurrences, as well as routine actions. Logs may be handwritten or entered into a computer.
- You are expected to be in uniform provided by management at all times while duty
- You will be expected to undertake any other assignments that management may require you to do from time to time

ZNPHI is collaborating with Resolve to Save Lives on a new surveillance program to enhance disease and contextual/risk data through strengthened surveillance and innovations in epidemic intelligence, effective use of existing and emergent data throughout the event lifecycle, and development of data tools and products that support key decision-makers from communities, the health sector, and government bodies.

Position Purpose:
The Public Health Intelligence Officer (PHIO) will sit under the Strategic Planning & Information Management (SPIM) directorate and serve as a liaison between SPIM, Surveillance Disease Intelligence (SDI), Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPR) directorate and Laboratory Systems Network. The role will ensure that ZNPHI’s public health emergency management activities are supported by data-driven insights. The PHIO will work closely with the Chief Informatics Officer (CIO) and Data Translation Specialist (DTS) to facilitate the integration and analysis of public health data for actionable intelligence.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Routine and ad-hoc public health data analysis, reporting, and visualization:
Analyze complex and large public health datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support decision-making and strategic planning for ZNPHI’s public health emergency management
Code with statistical software to streamline and automate routine analyses
Develop comprehensive analysis and visualizations (charts, dashboards, etc.) to communicate findings to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner
Support the Data Translation Specialist in preparing and disseminating regular reports on public health indicators and data-driven insights
Apply advanced statistical models and forecasting techniques to predict future trends and outcomes of diseases/syndromes, providing input for strategic planning, resource mobilization, deployment of preventive actions and public health emergency response activities
Public health data management and quality assurance:
Clean and manage large datasets from various sources, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and consistency
Conduct regular data audits to ensure data quality, resolve discrepancies, and recommend improvements to data collection processes
Work with the Chief Informatics Officer to develop and implement protocols for collecting, cleaning, storing, and analyzing health-related data

Other responsibilities:

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Full Grade 12 School Certificate with minimum five O level credits, including English and Mathematics

Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis to support decision-making, preferably in a development or public sector or within national and/or subnational public health context
Required Technical Skills:
Proficiency in data visualization, geospatial mapping, and descriptive analysis using statistical software such as Stata, R or Python
Advanced knowledge of statistical modeling and familiarity with specific models suitable for a given pathogen/disease. Demonstrated ability to understand academic manuscripts that detail these methods is highly desirable
Intermediate proficiency in R Shiny and Markdown for creating interactive applications and automated reports
Advanced programming skills to organize the scripts to execute complex modeling/visualization tools into replicable and comprehensible structures

The Zambia National Public Health Institute (ZNPHI) has the mandate to lead health security for the Republic of Zambia. Resolve to Save Lives (RTSL), a US-based global public health organization, works closely with Ministries of Health and national public health institutes in Africa to strengthen epidemic preparedness capacity, accelerate disease detection and response, and use data effectively to inform action. ZNPHI is collaborating with Resolve to Save Lives on a new surveillance program to enhance disease and contextual/risk data through strengthened surveillance and innovations in epidemic intelligence, effective use of existing and emergent data throughout the event lifecycle, and development of data tools and products that support key decision-makers from communities, the health sector, and government bodies.
ZNPHI seeks to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced person to be appointed as Public Health Intelligence Officer (PHIO) – Bioinformatics & Big Data Visualization under this collaborative project.
Position Purpose:
The Public Health Intelligence Officer (PHIO) will sit under the Strategic Planning & Information Management (SPIM) directorate and serve as a liaison between SPIM, Surveillance Disease Intelligence (SDI), Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPR) directorate and Laboratory Systems Network. The role will ensure that ZNPHI’s public health emergency management activities are supported by data-driven insights. The PHIO will work closely with the Chief Informatics Officer (CIO) and Data Translation Specialist (DTS) to facilitate the integration and analysis of public health data for actionable intelligence.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Routine and ad-hoc public health data analysis, reporting, and visualization:
Analyze complex and large public health datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support decision-making and strategic planning for ZNPHI’s public health emergency management
Code with statistical software to streamline and automate routine analyses
Develop comprehensive analysis and visualizations (charts, dashboards, etc.) to communicate findings to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner
Support the Data Translation Specialist in preparing and disseminating regular reports on public health indicators and data-driven insights
Apply advanced statistical models and forecasting techniques to predict future trends and outcomes of diseases/syndromes, providing input for strategic planning, resource mobilization, deployment of preventive actions and public health emergency response activities
Public health data management and quality assurance:
Clean and manage large datasets from various sources, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and consistency
Conduct regular data audits to ensure data quality, resolve discrepancies, and recommend improvements to data collection processes
Work with the Chief Informatics Officer to develop and implement protocols for collecting, cleaning, storing, and analyzing health-related data
Ensure and coordinate access to the key data variables each directorate needs to generate critical public health insight
Other responsibilities:
Support teams to improve analytical outputs meant for out-ward dissemination such as conference presentations, policy briefs, press releases and peer-reviewed scientific journal publications
Develop training programs to enhance the data management, analysis and interpretation skills of Zambia National Public Health Institute staff
Other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Full Grade 12 School Certificate with minimum five O level credits, including English and Mathematics
Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) or PhD with specialization in Biostatistics or Quantitative Epidemiology, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis to support decision-making, preferably in a development or public sector or within national and/or subnational public health context
Required Technical Skills:
Proficiency in data visualization, geospatial mapping, and descriptive analysis using statistical software such as Stata, R or Python
Advanced knowledge of statistical modeling and familiarity with specific models suitable for a given pathogen/disease. Demonstrated ability to understand academic manuscripts that detail these methods is highly desirable
Intermediate proficiency in R Shiny and Markdown for creating interactive applications and automated reports
Advanced programming skills to organize the scripts to execute complex modeling/visualization tools into replicable and comprehensible structures
Desired Skills and Abilities:
A good understanding of public health, data compilation, management, and analysis
Understanding of public health informatics and the importance of data in supporting health surveillance and emergency management
High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with a commitment to data integrity
Demonstrate agility in responding to evolving public health emergencies, adjusting priorities and approaches as necessary to meet changing demands

There is an opening for a Public Health Advisor role to be stationed in Lusaka, with frequent travel to districts in Zambia as well as periodic international travel.
Reporting to the Head of Programmes, this position is responsible for providing technical and strategic support to WaterAid Zambia’s WASH for Public Health Programme as part of delivering the Country Strategy for 2023-2028. The role also develops key partnerships and coordination with internal teams and partners, including government entities, private sector and donors for the delivery of WASH and Health programming. Additionally, the position will focus on developing an interface between WASH and Health programming and strengthening health systems and policy, in the context of ensuring public healthcare facilities have sustainable and safe WASH services to improve public health outcomes, integrating inclusive and effective hygiene behaviour change interventions into core public health programmes, and ensuring WASH is prioritised in national health development policies, strategies, budgets and plans.
Specifically, the Public Health Advisor will be responsible for the following amongst others:
Support to programme development and planning
- Support new funding opportunities in developing innovative and context-specific concepts and proposals on WASH and Public Health.
- Support the development of challenging and innovative projects based on a compelling, contextualized theory of change and for transformational change at scale.
- Provide in-depth thought leadership and strategic advice on WASH programming in health settings, framed within a Systems Strengthening approach.
- Identify and support the delivery of relevant research initiatives for WASH and Public Health.
- Contribute to strategic planning processes for developing and reviewing programme plans and the country strategy.
Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results
- Lead in operationalizing evidence-based, innovative behaviour change approaches including the assessment, design, implementation, monitoring, and adaptation of hygiene programmes.
- Lead in operationalising evidence-based models of water, sanitation, hygiene, environmental and healthcare waste management in HCF (WASH in HCF), including WASH links to infection prevention and control
- Provide technical advice and guidance while developing impactful and innovative Health and WASH programme interventions.
- Provide and coordinate targeted technical support and advice in line with WaterAid’s Quality Programme Standards when required.
- Responsible for providing technical input and support to relevant teams to ensure effective integration and monitoring of WASH in Public Health programmes working closely with the PMER team.
- Actively monitor programmes/projects through field visits, surveys and/or exchange of information with partners/stakeholders to assess progress, identify bottlenecks and potential problems and take timely decisions to resolve issues and/or refer to relevant stakeholders for timely resolution.
- Support WaterAid Zambia in developing the capacity of the relevant staff and partners on Health and its links with WASH.
- Lead innovations and adapt to required context to ensure reflective and meaningful Health and WASH programming.
- Participate in monitoring and evaluation exercises, programme reviews and annual sectoral reviews with government and other counterparts to assess progress and to determine required action/interventions to achieve results.
- Prepare regular/mandated programme/project reports for management, donors, and partners to keep them informed of WAZ’s WASH and Public Health programme progress.
Programme Learning and Influencing
- Ensure the capture and documentation of WASH and Health initiatives and learning from programme/ project interventions.
- Support programme and policy teams to identify opportunities for policy influencing and ensure WASH is prioritised in national health development policies, strategies, budgets, and plans.
- Support programme teams to strengthen health systems and ensure integration of sustainable and safe WASH services in all public healthcare facilities that are also gender responsive and meet or exceed national targets.
- Remain abreast of the global, regional, and national situation, processes, policies and plans related to Public Health/Health and their links with WASH.
- Commission research and studies for deepening WaterAid and Health sector partners’ knowledge and understanding of the linkages between Health and WASH.
- Provide technical input and programmatic insights to support the development and implementation of the Women’s Health Global Advocacy Campaign and the WASH in Public Health advocacy campaigns at national and provincial levels, together with sector partners and stakeholders.
- With support from the PMER team, document the qualitative and quantitative outcomes and impacts of WaterAid and partners’ work on Health and WASH, to ensure successful implementation and adaptation in line with our theory of change.
Sector engagement, partnerships and networking
- As delegated by the Head of Programmes, represent WaterAid in relevant national CSO, donor, and government forums related to Health and WASH to influence the thinking of other stakeholders, persuasively advocate for WaterAid’s Health and WASH change agenda, and build/strengthen WaterAid’s reputation as a sector leader.
- Represent WaterAid in regional and global processes and debates on Health and WASH.
- Develop and strengthen effective partnerships, networks, and alliances with sector stakeholders (especially the UN), government counterparts, research institutes and think tanks, private sector and NGOs involved in Health issues, to foster mutual learning and to identify innovations that would increase the impact, efficiency and effectiveness of sector performance (Health and WASH sectors).
- Cultivate and maintain functional relationships and networks with relevant stakeholders including government and civil society to influence integration of WASH in the health sector.
- Participate in monitoring and evaluation exercises, programme reviews and annual sectoral reviews with government and other counterparts to assess progress and to determine required action/interventions to achieve results.
- Contribute to key policy initiatives on WASH in health in close collaboration with the Partnerships and Advocacy team
- Collaborate with other members of the country programme team to help ensure Health and hygiene behaviour change is integrated into all areas of our work.
- Ensure high quality performance management of consultants supporting the implementation of WASH and public health work.
To be successful, you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Development studies, Water Resource Management from a recognized University, or professional qualifications in civil engineering, water and sanitation and environmental management.
- Minimum of five (5) years of managerial-level experience in programme planning, development, and management.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing WASH services and management models tailored for communities and institutions.
- Comprehensive understanding of government procedures, including budgeting and fiscal decentralization specific to WASH, and ways of working.
- Proven track record in conducting participatory context analyses and WASH system assessments at national and sub-national levels to inform programme and project designs. This includes expertise in political economy analysis, WASH system building block analysis, stakeholder mapping, WASH context analysis, asset inventories, and institutional and service provider capacity gap assessments.
- Familiarity with key principles such as systems strengthening and human rights, and their application in advancing sustainable and inclusive WASH initiatives in targeted geographic/administrative areas.

The company is specialized in fleet tracking, security escorts for valuable assets as well as abnormal loads, guarding both commercial and residential premises, and all your security concerns. The Company has qualified gun handlers, dog handlers, security guards and various professionals to meet the clients’ needs. The company is fully registered in Zambia and Zimbabwe, and it has associate companies in other neighboring countries to create a safe corridor for the clients’ goods in the region. Geyes Incorporated is fast growing, and it is for this reason that the company seeks to employ a total of 2 gun handlers to be based in Lusaka for both static and mobile duties. The mobile duties will include, but not limited, to the whole town of Lusaka.
The successful candidates to fill the gun handler positions will be responsible for the duties below;
1. To carry and use a firearm.
2. Attend to alarm activations and emergencies as instructed by control room.
3. Carry out thorough inspection of the client’s premises and accurately report to the control room of the situation.
4. To ensure client’s safety and property is number one priority before anything else.
5. To use firearms only when there is a direct and real threat to the life of the crew, property or client.
6. Must not use the firearm unnecessarily or irresponsibly as this may result in prosecution by the police and disciplinary action by the company.
7. Ensure that the firearm issued is in perfect condition when handing it over to control room and report any defects.
8. Ensure that the correct rounds of ammunition are handed to control room.
9. Any other duties assigned to you by your superior
Successful candidates to fill the security guard positions will be responsible for the duties below;
1. Inspect and patrol premises regularly
2. Monitor property entrance
3. Authorize entrance of people, goods and vehicles and record in the provided register.
4. Ensure that all properties/ goods leaving the premises are recorded in the register and signed for by the custodian of that property (Drivers, employees, etc)
5. Report any suspicious behaviors and happenings in good time to the control room
6. Work hand in hand with the gun handler and secure the premises being guarded.
7. Respond to alarms and react in a timely manner
8. Provide assistance to people in need
9. Submit reports of daily activities
10. Submit reports of every suspicious action
The Ideal Candidates: Minimum Requirements/ Attributes:
- Grade 9 or 12 Certificate
- Good written and Spoken English

- Industrial security experience or military background will be an added advantage
