Our client, a leading technology service provider and distributor in Africa, with a presence in over 15 countries, is looking to hire a Sales Manager to join their team in Zambia. The job holder will be responsible for the recruitment of partners, the enablement of these partners to sell our client’s technologies; solutions and services, and ultimately for these partners to grow into full-fledged partners with specialization in all areas related to the vendors and technologies represented.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for total sales volumes for product ranges.
  • Lead the sales teams to grow vendor revenue in existing bases and new accounts through focused marketing strategies, campaigns and enablement.
  • Recruit partners into the different vendor/technologies programs.
  • Grow resellers’ expertise, competence, knowledge and skills in the vendor programs they are primarily engaged in, as well as adjacent vendors/technologies that the client may represent.
  • Manage the vendor partner programs into the channel.
  • Be an expert with respect to the vendor/technology competition

Market products and manage the sales process:

  • Identify and implement market strategies.
  • Disseminate product information.
  • Grow market share.
  • Identify new business opportunities.
  • Position vendor product set.
  • Drive partner activities to conclusion

Engage in collaborative, strategic and tactical business planning with named partners:

  • Identify new markets.
  • Understand the partner sales process and develop a sales and marketing strategy to best suit the partner.
  • Develop sales tools to assist partner sales and pre sales.
  • Develop sales and marketing strategy to mine existing customer base.
  • Assist partners with broad-base marketing to promote vendor(s) in their business.
  • Assist partners with customer reference sites.
  • Create and promote high impact and innovative marketing programs and
  • initiatives within the partners to generate new opportunities.
  • Design partner enablement plans, to ensure partner resources are skilled in
  • the marketing programs and products they are going to drive.
  • Working with partners to devise growth strategies and implementing these strategies.
  • Training and updates to the partners on vendor technology.
  • Project Manage Proof of Concepts from cradle to grave with defined outcomes and resolutions.
  • Assisting the sales team develop sales and account plans.
  • Provide accurate and regular sales forecasts and business updates to the client management.
  • Assisting in the Recruiting and development of new vendor partners in the respective territories or markets.
  • Deliver an accurate weekly revenue and gross profit forecast, internally to management.
  • Monitor Gross profit, from daily sales & contribution reports.
  • Handle all channel related issues.

Requirements 

  • Grade 12 Certificate with a minimum of Five (5) “O” levels, including Credits or Better in English and Mathematics.
  • Must have a Bachelors Degree in marketing and/or commercial degree or equivalent education experience.
  • Must have 6-8 years sales experience in the IT industry, with minimum 5 years experience selling to large corporate customers.
  • Successful account management experience and technical sales experience.
  • Technical background, with experience in the reseller channel and or IT security products and technologies.
  • End-user sales management experience.
  • Proven experience with HP Enterprise Server, NIC & Storage experience or
  • other alternate Vendor experience.
  • Familiarity with Software Enterprise e.g. Oracle, IBM, VMware
  • Applicants must have no criminal record.
  • Must have own vehicle and valid driver’s license.
