Limestone Resources Limited seeks to employ a suitably qualified, experienced, and multi-skilled individual to fill the below listed vacancy:

Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer (X1)

Reports to: Maintenance Manager


Job Overview:

To supervise, direct, and control plant operations to ensure effective and efficient repairs, servicing, and maintenance of plant machinery to sustain operations at Limestone Resources Limited.


Accountabilities/Tasks:

Maintenance of Electrical/Instrumentation Plant Equipment

  • Ensure effective and efficient maintenance of all electrical/instrumentation plant equipment for maximum availability through a properly coordinated preventive maintenance program.
  • Ensure that electrical/instrumentation equipment is serviced and repaired effectively to sustain plant availability.

Spare Parts Management

  • Initiate, develop, and recommend medium and long-term spare requirements to facilitate maintenance work.

Safety and Compliance

  • Enforce all statutory and domestic regulations relating to safe working practices to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment, as well as good housekeeping.

Record Keeping

  • Ensure proper maintenance of records for all activities taking place in the repair and maintenance of plant machinery, maintaining a good inventory of maintenance.

Project Execution

  • Ensure that all electrical components of projects undertaken by Limestone Resources Limited are executed to the desired standards.

Qualifications:

Education & Certification:

  • Grade 12 certificate with credits or better, including Math and English.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience.

Memberships & Registration:

  • Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (MEIZ) after practicing for at least 2 years.
  • Registered Engineer with the Engineering Registration Board (REng), with at least 3 years of practice.

  • The role involves complex operations with established general and broad directions. The holder is expected to determine and implement departmental goals.

Analytical Skills:

  • The job requires engineering design, calculations, and drawings for diverse functions.

Numerical/Computation Skills:

  • The job requires the use of complex calculations for engineering design (pump stations, conveyor systems, drives, BOQs) and capital budgeting (NPV, IRR, Payback Periods).

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.

Skills/Abilities:

  • The job holder must consider the implications of their actions on own and other sections’ performance.
  • Ability to handle pressure from other demands and unforeseen obstacles.
  • Making decisions that affect departmental operations.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical situations and find the best solutions.
  • Mathematical skills are a prime requirement.
  • Ability to use electrical instruments and computers.
  • Physical exertion or consideration for walking/standing and some considerable travel may be required.
