Position Title: Solar Installation Instructor
Reporting to: The Principal

Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Solar Installation Instructor to join our dynamic training team. As a Solar Installation Instructor, you will play a critical role in shaping the next generation of solar energy professionals by delivering high-quality, engaging, and hands-on training. You will report directly to the principal and work collaboratively with the training coordinator and a team of educators to uphold our organization’s commitment to excellence in solar energy education.

Job Description:

As a Solar Installation and Service Instructor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Course Delivery:
    • Teach foundational and advanced topics in solar energy systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Practical Training:
    • Facilitate hands-on activities, including system design, wiring, and mounting solar panels.
  • Mentorship:
    • Guide trainees during projects and prepare them for industry attachment.
  • Assessment:
    • Develop and administer tests, assignments, and practical evaluations to ensure trainee competence.
  • Industry Standards:
    • Ensure all training aligns with current safety regulations and industry best practices.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education:
    • Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years in solar energy system installation, maintenance, or related work.
  • Certifications:
    • Certification in solar installation or training is an advantage.
  • Teaching Skills:
    • Prior experience in training or education is highly preferred.
  • Other Skills:
    • Strong communication and organizational abilities.
    • Proficiency in using solar system design and monitoring tools.
    • Ability to inspire and engage adult learners.

Key Responsibilities by Week:

  • Weeks 1–4:
    • Classroom and Practical Training:
      • Deliver lectures on solar energy systems.
      • Supervise trainees during practical sessions.
  • Weeks 5–8:
    • Industry Attachment Support:
      • Provide periodic check-ins with trainees during attachments.
      • Offer technical support and guidance as needed.
